This is what I’ve been doing for last days, sitting and counting loops. I made a test of how big a doily carpet can be, and this is now the biggest I’ve made. It’s 300cm x 200cm, huge! And heavy too, it took about 15 kilos of yarn. There was a lot of doing and undoing, changing patterns and watching movies. It’s usually the time to have a movie marathon when crocheting something this big. Sitting still can be horribly boring, even when the result is like this.

In the photo below is the first try. This one took five George Clooney movies to get to this point, and after all it got only unwind back to a roll of yarn. I made it with my basic doily pattern, but it needed to be more airy and light.
